We all battle, struggle, and gradually die for the pursuit of power. Power, like the fabled philosopher’s stone, comes in a plethora of various forms like money, weapons, or even a fragile ball point pen. All forms of power gives one important feeling to the user; freedom. When one is given power, one is given control, one is given the ability to live the way they desire. Many seek the almighty power of control from everything and everyone except themselves, desperate in their attempt to achieve the satisfaction of being able to what they want. Everyone wants to be what they want to be, right? Everyone wants to have a say in their own lives, regardless of the choices they took along the way. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to have power, and thus are controlled by the ones who do. This is what survival of the fittest is, isn’t it? If you’re not strong enough, you are manipulated until your usefulness has faded. I see many who have fallen in their quest to achieve power, to fulfill their dreams and aspirations, to be content with where they are now. Why does power appear so hard to obtain in life? Why must people have to suffer for the lust for power, when in reality, power is given to everyone as soon as we emerge from our mother’s matrix? To have control over one’s life is both a miracle and an illusion. Freedom is a state of mind where one knows that he or she goes through life according to his or her own will. As the world and everything in it is made up of energy, so are we, souls that inhabit earthly bodies until we depart from this globe. The energy that dwells within us all is in fact, the very power that we all desire so intensely. We are the epitome of power, control and freedom. The words that float along the wind as they emerge from our mouths can change the world in one day. The actions that we take with such ease actually has a powerful impact on life. The choice to use our power resides on our emotions entirely. We each have limitless potential from the beginning, but it is constantly taken from the struggles in life if you do not defend it. Be confident, brave and happy, and the power that was always within you will be claimed. Power, control and freedom is a very dangerous thing, and with it, comes a great responsibility and risks, but as long as we continue to know that we always have a choice, or power in our lives, we can pursue our dreams. No one can have all the power, control, or freedom, but no one is powerless either. Fight for your beliefs, and never doubt your ability to change the world, and yourself. At the end of the day, the power is yours, and what you do with it, is up to you.
“Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.” ~ Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia – M.R
